.
Formed in 1968, we are the oldest continuous chapter in Montana. We have 175 members and  11 Members on our Board of Directors. JBTU has received both state and national attention for our work on behalf of the Yellowstone River.

Who was Joe Brooks?

For those who love fly fishing, our chapter of Trout Unlimited could not be named for anyone more fitting...Joe Brooks. Through the middle part of the 20th century, Joe Brooks developed equipment, invented flies, traveled widely, and wrote it all down so we could get more enjoyment out of this marvelous sport.

For those of you interested in knowing more about Joe Brooks (who passed away in 1972), we would suggest three of his books: The Complete Book of Fly Fishing (1958), Salt Water Game Fishing (1968), or Trout Fishing (1972).
