FLESHMAN CREEK

Fleshman Creek runs through the town of Livingston, MT and is a major spawning tributary for Yellowstone Cutthroat Trout. JBTU works with both the city and county to protect and restore this valuable asset to both the
Yellowstone River and the community.

VOYICH RANCH RESTORATION
(photos below)
JBTU is currently working with a number of partners on the restoration of a portion of upper Fleshman Creek on the Voyich Ranch. JBTU will help with the revegitation of the newly restored section in the spring of 2010. Paths created over new culverts allow the movement of cattle and equipment on the ranch while protecting creek flows.

FLOW AGREEMENT
In 2008, with support from MTU and FWP
we re-negotiated a flow agreement  with the city to ensure adequate
continuous and flushing flows to conserve a habitat for spawning trout.

FEMA PROJECT
JBTU was represented on the selection committee for a contractor to study needed improvements on the creek for Park County. The results of that study will be has lead to the approval of close to 3 million dollars to improve the county infrastructure, such as replacing and aligning culverts, that will remove many restrictions on the flow of Fleshman creek through Livingston from Sakagaweya Park to Mayors Landing. JBTU will offer volunteers to help with the restoration of creek beds after the work is completed.

 MAYORS LANDING
In 2004, JBTU received an Embrace a Stream grant from TU and worked with our state board - MTU, Fish and Wildlife (FWP) and the city of Livingston to restore a section of the creek in the Mayor's Landing area.
